Ezell's Fish Camp - Lavaca
(Rt. 1, Box 659-A, 36904 - 205 654-2205) Located about 10 miles east of Butler, Alabama on the Tombigbee River; drive through the middle of a cotton field to a rustic cabin with rocking chairs on  the porch; the original building is around 200 years old; quaint setting with  weathered out buildings and moss-covered trees nearby; they have served fried  catfish here for about 50 years; a favorite stopping point for the late Rock n' Roll Hall of Famer Carl Perkins; unusual items on menu include fried dill  pickles and frog legs; most of the picnic style seating offers river views; on a nice day you can dine on the outdoor patio while a stuffed moosehead looms over your shoulder; mounted deer and wild boar also adorn the walls ... adding to the  folksy, hunting camp feel; a shadowbox frame displays rattlesnake tails as well  as claws and tails of various local creatures … not for the squeamish; delicious  fried catfish with perfectly seasoned cornmeal coating comes with a sweet, soupy  cole slaw, fresh cut french fries and corn kernel-laden hushpuppies; a nicely brewed sweet tea is served in tall glasses; a classic fish camp from the past;  highly recommended.
