Adding Distance

Fuel Cells change your time/distance management by giving you the option of stopping fewer times during a trip.   In addition to the time saved by making fewer gas stops, the increased range is helpful during long-distance rallies when you are riding in unfamiliar and remote areas, especially at night.  The IronButt Assn. allows 11.5 U.S. Gallons for a motorcycle.  Of course, safety is the primary concern.  I asked the LDRider list for some examples of their fuel cells.

The primary concerns with fuel cell safety are stability, weight and sloshing.  Tail draggers and pillion seat replacements are popular because they handle these concerns most effectively.  Putting baffles in help solve the sloshing problem.

Some of these links are local and some are on the rider's web sites.  If you encounter a broken link, please notify me.
